Digestive HP contains:

A Saccharomyces cerevisiae Prebiotic and Postbiotic blend that has been proven to:

• Support the hindgut fiber fermenting bacteria, to increase the amount of muscle energy they are able to produce via fiber fermentation.
• Reduce whole-body stress, with horses supplemented having lower serum cortisol and lower serum amyloid A (SAA) after exercise; and
• Support joint health, with supplemented horses having lower Prostaglandin E2 (a biomarker used to assess inflammation) in their joints following exercise.

Two acid buffers; Marine Algae Calcium and Magnesium Hydroxide, to help maintain a normal stomach PH.

A Balanced Calcium to Magnesium Ratio is necessary to assist with bone health, nervous system function and behavior.

Essential Amino Acids.  L-Threonine, L-Glutamine, L-Proline, L-Serine and L-Leucine are designed to improve mucous production and reinforce gut wall support to reduce susceptibility to injury.

Digestive Enzymes. Alpha-amylase, Beta-glucanase,  Beta-xylanase, to enhance the digestion of starch in the small intestine and maximise muscle energy provided as glucose/glycogen.

As part of the research and design phase of our digestive gut health supplement, we initially conducted trials with an early formulation. This formulation was tested on a variety of horses across different disciplines, yielding consistent reports of improvements in condition, topline, behavior, manure consistency, performance, appearance, and stress resilience. Since then, the formulation has only improved, further enhancing these benefits.

Additionally, a separate field study was conducted by Professor Andrew Dart (BVSc PhD, Dip ACVS, Dip ECVS) from the University of Sydney, with a cohort of randomly selected horses. The results showed a remarkable increase in feed conversion, with some horses experiencing up to ninefold increases in weekly weight gain. Yes it is. Like everything with Laminitic horses, introduce it slowly, just to be on the safe side. Laminitics can be unpredictable, so slow is always best when adding something new to their diet.

Digestive HP is not designed to treat existing gastric ulcers. Please consult your veterinarian about treatment with a registered gastric ulcer medication if your horse has confirmed ulcers. The veterinarian should be able to properly diagnose stomach ulcers via a gastroscopy and determine if your horse requires treatment with a prescription medication. 

Once your horse has been diagnosed and commenced  treatment for ulcers, Digestive HP can be used (alone or in conjunction with the treatment).

Yes, Digestive HP can be safely fed to pregnant and lactating mares to support their gut health and potentially also their milk production. It should be fine for foals to nibble on a bit of their mother's feed containing Digestive HP. However, as there aren't studies specifically aimed at foals for a majority of the ingredients, we can't recommend giving it as part of a foal's feed. 

As Digestive HP includes ingredients specifically designed to address gut health, it should be safe to feed alongside most other feeds and supplements. You may find that with the addition of Digestive HP and a balanced diet with vitamins and minerals, your horse may not need additional supplements. For example, Digestive HP contains a good amount of calcium, magnesium and a toxin binder, so if you are already feeding another supplement with those in it, you may find you can cut it out. No need to waste money on over-supplementing.
